Kevin Kaiser Wins Spring Bling at Lucas Oil
Speedway, Brett Rollert Finds Victory Lane for a Fourth Time as Jason
Estes Clings on To ULMA Points Lead!

Warrensburg, MO
August 1, 2007
Last weekend the W-K Chevrolet United Late Model Association (ULMA)
drivers were able to compete at three of their four affiliated tracks.
The highlight of the weekend was the first-ever Spring Bling Shootout,
which was held at the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" Lucas Oil Speedway, in
Wheatland, Missouri. Several ULMA members qualified for the event, which
was won by Kevin Kaiser of Cole Camp, Missouri. As a result of Kaiser's
most recent ULMA victory, he vaulted to third in the overall ULMA point
standings just 58 points back from the current leader, Jason Estes.
Other top ten finishers for the Spring Bling event were Shawn Williams
4th, Chad Frewaldt 6th, James Rutledge 9th and Donnie Gemes 10th. In the
regular weekly feature race at Lucas Oil Speedway ULMA members Rutledge,
Danny Lorton, Gemes and Kaiser all posted top ten finishes.
Brett Rollert of Smithville, Missouri continues to pressure current
point's leader Estes at the top of the standings. Rollert won his
series-leading fourth ULMA feature event of the year last Saturday at
Warrensburg's Central Missouri Speedway (CMS). Rollert and Estes battled
hard for the win with Rollert coming out on top as Estes held on to
finish tenth after the two drivers made contact late in the 15-lap race.
Other top 10 ULMA finishers were Jon Binning 4th, Jamie Wineland 6th and
Derek Nevels 7th. In less than two weeks many of the ULMA member drivers
will be on hand for the "Late Model Special" at CMS on Saturday, August
11th. Several drivers looking for Saturday night ULMA points will have
the opportunity to earn them at CMS as all late models will be competing
for added purse money on the 11th. Valley Speedway in Grain Valley,
Missouri was able to get in a rain-shortened feature event that was
actually won by super late model driver Jason Bodenhamer who was
substituting in ULMA member Brett Wood's familiar #7. No ULMA points
were awarded to either driver as Bodenhamer is not a member of the
association and Wood was not behind the wheel. Estes posted a
third-place run at Valley with fellow ULMA members Jim Adkins 4th,
Rollert 5th, Binning 6th, Chad Frewaldt 8th, Will McKinney 9th and Kevin
Coyne 10th. Callaway Raceways in Fulton, Missouri was unable to run last
weekend due to rain.
Jason Estes’ point lead is down to just six over Brett Rollert.
Currently Estes has 1,454 points and his next worst finish remaining to
discard is a sixth-place run! As previously mentioned Kaiser vaulted to
3rd and now has his 15 starts, meaning he will now begin discarding his
poorest finishes. Chad Frewaldt also moved up the standings sheet after
last weekend’s racing to 4th. As the season winds down the point
standings battle at the top continues to heat up with drivers trying to
improve upon their 15 best finishes, which they keep toward the
championship. The maximum amount of points that can be earned is 1,500.
Brett Wood has slipped to ninth overall in the standings but is still
the leading rookie of the year competitor with 1,288 points; 202 points
ahead of his closest competitor, A.L. Barbour who currently sits in 13th
in the standings.
All four ULMA affiliated tracks will be in action this coming weekend as
the drivers head into week #15 of competition. All total there are six
weekends remaining in the season with a total of 21 possible point
nights between the tracks as follows: CMS-6, Valley-6, Callaway-5, and
Lucas Oil-4. Affiliate membership for fans is available for $10. Visit
the Website for additional membership information and forms. For further
info on ULMA be sure to visit the association's official Website at
