Tri-Counties Masonry Latest Sponsor Added to ULMA. Double Duel Showdown Nears as Rollert and Rutledge are Tied for the Point’s Lead!

The United Late Model Association (ULMA) is exceptionally pleased to welcome another new sponsor for its inaugural season. Tri-Counties Masonry of Holts Summit, Missouri, is a general Masonry contractor with combined experience of over 40 years. Tri County masons have built schools, banks, churches and many custom residential homes and serve the central Missouri region including Cole, Boone, Callaway and Moniteau Counties. Their specialty is residential and commercial brick, block and stone work. Other services provided include tuck pointing and masonry restoration. They are a member of the Jefferson City Home Builders Association. Tri-Counties Masonry LLC is also the sponsor of the 27A and the 27T late model, shared by ULMA rookie candidate Aaron Todd and his father Philip Todd. They may be reached at (573) 896-5777 or (573) 619-4555 or on the Web at www.tri-countiesmasonry.com. The company has added bonus money to the upcoming W-K Chevrolet Firecracker Double Duel Showdown presented by Tri-Counties Masonry LLC, which will be held at Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri on Friday, July 6th and Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, on Saturday, July 7th respectively. A special two-night points scheme will be used to determine the overall winner of this event and bonus money will be awarded to the top five in overall points after the race at Lucas Oil Speedway. Drivers will be competing for each of the tracks’ regular paying weekly purses; however, only paying ULMA members are eligible for this event. Pre-entry forms can be found on the association’s Website at www.ulmaracing.com. Participants are asked to print out their form and bring it to Callaway Raceway on the first night of the event prior to racing action getting underway. Entry forms will be available at Callaway Raceway from the Callaway Raceway ULMA track representative, Danny Lorton, on the night of the event; he will be collecting all of the entry forms.

After nine weeks of competition there is a tie on top of the current ULMA point standings! The co-point’s leaders are California, Missouri’s James Rutledge, who has led since week one and Smithville, Missouri driver Brett Rollert. Both drivers have claimed feature race victories this year on their way to the top of the standings. Over the next several weeks the point’s chase will really begin to heat up as several drivers are nearing the 15-race mark and will soon begin discarding their poorest point’s earning nights. ULMA member drivers keep their 15 best points-earning nights until the official end of the point’s season. Drivers earn their points from the four affiliated ULMA tracks: Valley Speedway, Callaway Raceway, Lucas Oil Speedway and Central Missouri Speedway. All four of the tracks will be running their programs this weekend with Valley and Callaway in action on Friday night and Lucas Oil Speedway and CMS on Saturday. Other drivers near the top include Brett Wood, Chad Frewaldt, and Jason Estes. The rest of the top ten includes Jon Binning, Kevin Coyne, Danny Lorton, Kevin Kaiser and Jamie Wineland. A complete rundown of the standings appears below. Drivers still have 24 more opportunities to earn points towards the inaugural ULMA championship.

The association is currently working with two local promoters to secure some late season races to close out the year and will announce more about these two events in the coming months. Only ULMA member drivers will be eligible to participate in these two events so drivers who have been undecided on joining the association will need to soon make a decision on whether or not they are fully committed to the survival of weekly late model racing in the ULMA-racing area. Not only can drivers join and compete for the title for a mere $50 this year, but fans and crewmen are also welcome to join the association as affiliate members for $25 or $10. For more details visit the association’s official Website where you can view the association hats that are currently for sale, there are only a few hats left from the initial order. T-shirts have arrived also and can be purchased from ULMA track reps at each of the four affiliated tracks for only $15. Don’t get left behind in the dust … racing with ULMA is a must!

The ULMA would like to thank all of its sponsors for the 2007 season. When you visit our great sponsors tell them you heard about them through the ULMA and thank them for their support of dirt-track racing!
